I don't have a problem with the images themselves (though they are very provocative in some cases - I appreciate that, and it's true to cultural realities, which is important). I don't like how some of the oracular meanings were connected to them. I am sure that's because this is a huge and sensitive area for me due to personal work and advocacy with the indigenous nations in the US. You could be right about the "dreams coming true" in a challenging way - I would be surprised if that was the intention, being that oracles like this tend to be gentler than that (not that they aren't effective in their gentleness). I do think she is trying to encourage the reader to focus on personal agency and not on the difficulties that can't be changed. That message has value - just not in combination with such a raw and painful history (to me). Thanks for sharing your thoughts, dear lady! <3Olivia Petershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13787218597949074958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-695429841529630819.post-48852646583776527452017-10-02T03:42:18.623-04:002017-10-02T03:42:18.623-04:00Your perspective is valid, and highlights somethin...Your perspective is valid, and highlights something. If you have knowledge of the symbolism on the cards, I'd go with that and entirely ignore the descriptions. For those who don't understand the symbolism, the descriptions will give them a completely different take on the cards. Which is perhaps untrue to the original imagery, but will also work as an oracle.

On that card, it's fair enough to have the native man with stigmata if that was a 'thing'. And the words, 'your dreams are becoming reality', well, dreams are not always purely positive... Did Jesus dream of leading people into a new reality? He certainly achieved that, but didn't expect it to be through his death on the cross...

All told, not a deck I'm at all enticed by :/Inner Whispershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04577110987784585986noreply@blogger.com
